🟢 Next up: Tea Plantation Light Festival (winter)
From around mid-November to early January, the Daehan Dawon tea plantation is wrapped in millions of LED lights — the terraces, paths, and surrounding hillsides all lit up. It’s the single best reason to visit Boseong in the cold season, and pairs perfectly with Beolgyo cockles, which are at their plumpest in winter.

🌿 Boseong Green Tea Festival (early May)
Boseong’s flagship event, the 다향대축제 (Daehyang Tea Festival), runs for about five days in early May at the Korea Tea Culture Park and the tea fields. The 2026 edition (its 48th) ran May 1–5 with a new matcha-focused rebrand and expanded programs aimed at younger and international visitors — tea-leaf picking, tea-making workshops, a grand outdoor tea party, and more. Festival entry is free.

When to come — a quick season guide
- Spring (Apr–May): new tea shoots, the festival, mild weather. Beautiful but busiest.
- Summer (Jun–Aug): the terraces at their lushest green; hot and humid.
- Autumn (Sep–Oct): quieter, comfortable, great light for photos.
- Winter (Nov–Jan): the light festival, fat cockles, fewest crowds — underrated.
The tea terraces are green year-round, so there’s no truly bad time — only different moods.
